The reading I enjoyed most this week
was the Commencement Address by John Stewart. I thought his piece was not the
typical speech you here at graduation it had a little bit of a twist. He
stressed that the real world is very flawed which is very true. The most inspiring part of his speech was when
he reassured the graduates that no matter what happens in their new lives they
are smart and sharp enough to find solutions to their challenges. I really
enjoyed this piece because it made me reflect on my graduation. At my
graduation I was honored to give a speech because I was vice president of the
class. My class lost two students to death both my car accidents, one our
senior year and one our sophomore year. The president and myself gave a speech
that we not only conquered high school we learned coping skills and real life
challenges. High school isn’t meant to be perfect and sometimes you learn
skills out of it that you never would before. John Stewarts speech to me was
excellent and very though provoking and honest.
