MySpace Outage Leaves Millions Friendless

This article was very interesting; over the years the term “friend” has gained much more meaning. Everyone knows that one person with over two thousand Facebook friends, but the question is dose that person actual have a friendship with all those two thousands friends. My assumption is probably not. I think that social networking has changed our view on what a “friend” is. Don’t get me wrong I think Facebook and other social networking sites are great. They help you remain in contact with friends in your country as well as in other countries.  I think some people go a little bit over board when adding friends. To me a friend is someone who I could call and have a comfortable conversation or someone I could call in an emergency, not somebody who just pops up occasionally in my news’s feed. If Facebook disappeared I know I wouldn’t become friendless. I would still maintain my close friendships.
